An update on our Walk All Over Cancer challenge for Cancer Research UK. Here’s what we did…
We have taken part in numerous sponsored events over the last few years – taking on the Three Peaks Challenge (for the younger fitter team members!) and Climbing Snowden for the (err…less fit!) and not forgetting the London Moonwalk in 2015.
This year Richard Bryan (who is usually to blame for suggesting these endeavours!) proposed the Walk All Over Cancer challenge to walk 10,000 steps per day throughout March to raise money for Cancer Research. That’s roughly five miles a day…quite a challenge for our desk-bound team!
Twenty five team members signed up for this challenge. Here is some of the team below
Update following the challenge
Can you believe it, our team has walked an astonishing 10,729,141 steps. That’s more than enough to walk as far as China! One of our tem members, Lulu managed a massive 41,832 in one day whilst on holiday in Cornwall! We had set ourselves the target of raising £2,500, but I’m delighted to tell you we have smashed that. Our current total is £2,945, but we also had a dress down day and also some lovely feet shaped shortbread biscuits sold to raise a bit more cash to add to this, so we should easily exceed £3,000 for Cancer Research UK.
