Sophie has experience in the auditing of small and medium sized companies, in particular owner managed businesses, across a range of industries; from recruitment to construction and manufacturing.
Sophie works closely with clients on a variety of accounting systems, such as Netsuite, Sage, Xero, CCH and Digita, to help them improve on their internal controls, particularly within their accounting functions. Sophie also has substantial experience in the preparation of statutory accounts & advises clients on amendments to the accounting standards, in particular FRS 102, regularly updated by the Financial Reporting Council.
Specialising in Solicitors Accounts Rules audits, Sophie ensures clients are compliant with the SRA rules and kept up-to-date with proposed reforms to the legislation, the most recent being implemented in 2019. Sophie provides advice to clients on the new simplified SRA rules which come with very little guidance. In particular on distinguishing between client money and office money and the review of old client balances which have been emphasised as areas of focus.
