Kate advises clients on all aspects of forensic work and has been actively involved in more than 200 engagements. Her work involves expert witness and advisory assignments, expert determinations and fraud investigations.
Her experience ranges from the calculation of loss and damages in contractual disputes and consequential loss scenarios, to business valuations in the context of shareholder, partnership and matrimonial disputes. Kate has significant experience of transaction-related disputes, advising on warranty claims and acting as expert determiner and adviser in completion accounts and earn-out disputes.
Kate acts for a variety of clients from private individuals, partnerships and owner managed businesses to multinational companies. Her experience covers most industry sectors.
She has experience of giving evidence under cross-examination in the High Court, County Court and at arbitration.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Kate also sits on the ICAEW President’s Appointments Scheme panel of experts. She is a member of The Academy of Experts, a board member of the Network of Independent Financial Accountants and on the committee of the ICAEW Forensic Community.
Kate Hart is also listed as a forensic accounting expert to Who’s Who Legal and is a contributing author of Forensic Accounting & Finance: Principles & Practice.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys running and playing in an amateur orchestra.
