Guildford Cathedral project to install colourful planters

Guildford Cathedral is thrilled to work with Woking-based charity LinkAble installing new planters.

Guildford Cathedral’s new project in support of LinkAble, a Woking-based charity. LinkAble support people with learning disabilities, helping them to develop their potential and enjoy socially inclusive fulfilled lives.

A group of volunteers from LinkAble is embarking on a project to plant, tend and nurture three large wooden planters in the grounds of the Cathedral.

Due to their hard work, the planters will provide a colourful feast of flowers and plants throughout the seasons, and complement the exterior of Guildford Cathedral.

The volunteers will now have the opportunity to learn new gardening skills. Not to mention their sense of wellbeing working with nature and a sense of achievement and pride as they tend the planters throughout the year.

Volunteer Officer, Gill Thorpe, says ‘We’re delighted to welcome a new group of volunteers to the Cathedral. They will help tend our colourful planters, and I hope they enjoy being part of the Cathedral community’.

Several local organisations have sponsored the planters at Guildford Cathedral. Besides Roffe Swayne, the University of Surrey and law firm Charles Russell Speechlys have also sponsored planters.
