15th January preview evening of the Star of Wonder light and sound show
Roffe Swayne sponsor Guildford Cathedral event: Star of Wonder – a light and sound show inside Guildford Cathedral, running from 16th to 18th January.
To celebrate the opening of this very special event, we invited some guests to join us for the preview on 15th January.
A sensory spectacular
The whole of the inside of Guildford Cathedral was lit up in a kaleidoscope of colours and images projected onto the walls and ceiling of the cathedral by artist Peter Walker. This visual delight was accompanied by music, composed by David Harper, who, together, are a collaboration called Luxmuralis (which means light murals). This immersive show was a celebration of the twelve days of Christmas.
Following the show, we all got together in Seasons Café for a glass of wine and some nibbles.
“Thank you for inviting us, we really enjoyed the show”
“Many thanks for the invitation to see the light extravaganza last night. Quite delightful!”
“We really did enjoy it very much! And thank you for supporting the arts like this. As the creative duo said, it wouldn’t be possible to do these things without the support from organisations like Roffe Swayne.”
Linda Warner commented; “We are thrilled to be involved in sponsoring this exciting and unusual event, enjoyed by us and our clients. It is so important to allow the arts to be accessible by everyone and Peter and David have put together a spectacular show.”
