Tony Kelly works with growing businesses with turnovers up to approximately £20m offering practical help and guidance on a wide range of issues.
He is the head of our technical committee with overall responsibility for quality control on audits and is also our Charities Specialist Partner. In that role he works closely with charity trustees and management to help them to meet their charitable objectives, and providing practical help and advice to that end. Tony also acts as a Trustee of two Surrey charities, so he understands the needs and concerns of Trustees from both sides.
Tony is also a Licensed Practitioner for ATOL Reporting purposes.
- Assisted a client with a major restructuring involved the merger of two complimentary IT business, including aspects of taxation advice for the company, its directors and shareholders.
- Worked closely with a client’s Finance Director and finance team to help to resolve a major trade dispute with its parent company overseas, following meetings with representatives of the overseas entity and its auditors; resulted in significant claims against our client being dropped.
- Helped a charity client to streamline its reporting procedures from its numerous autonomous branches located around the UK, resulting in greater Management and Trustee control over its financial and general operations.
- Worked with a company’s existing accountants to bring its management and financial accounting functions up to date, thus assisting with its funding application necessary to secure the business’s future; advised as to the structure of the funding going forward and provided taxation advice to our client.
Tony’s interests include most sports, especially cricket, plus theatre and helping local restaurants through a difficult trading period!
