Cascade Software is a Surrey-based family business that provides software for the road haulage industry. Their software enables local authorities and haulage companies to transport abnormally wide loads around the UK. Over the last few years Cascade has grown substantially and their Managing Director, Sally Waterfall, needed to focus on growth and new markets and required support in running the business and its finance needs.
By taking over their accounting function, including raising sales invoices, general bookkeeping and Sage reporting, we provided Sally with financial data to improve management decision making and budget planning. This gave Sally the time and opportunity to focus on managing the business.
Since managing the accounting function and as the business continues to grow, we are now designing and producing departmental management accounts and working with all departments to deliver budget planning. This allows Sally to easily understand the business’ financial position and compare budgets against forecasts. In addition, we redesigned their sales invoicing to simplify the process which we now manage on their behalf.
One of our team continues to work at Cascade’s offices as part of their finance team, for two days every month. This allows Sally to continue to focus on managing the business and capitalise on the market opportunities for strategic growth.
