Growing together: our work with a high growth, global technology busines
Auga Technologies Limited is a high growth technology company building a dominant global position in the facilitation of real-time audience engagement and insight.
Key customers include eBay, GSK, Microsoft, Linklaters, KPMG, HSBC and BHP Billiton, with turnover in is the region of £1.7 million.
While privately held Auga Technoligies has a number of external shareholders and has been involved in some corporate activity including third party investment and divestment of part of the business.
The company’s brands include Vevox, QMob and a software development company Auga Solutions.
The company became a client of ours at the end of 2017. They had read one of our articles on our outsourced FD services and were coincidentally recommended to us by a local law firm. They recently sold part of their business at a substantial uplift and were looking for a business partner to work with them to help prepare them for the next stage of their growth and development.
We initially started working with them, helping them with the structure, content and preparation of their management accounts. They needed management accounts that consolidated their other overseas/group companies and that were in an easy to follow format.
At the same time they were looking to transition their accounting systems to a new software platform that would better suit their needs going forward and we were able to help them with this.
Having worked with them to create reliable and useable management accounting information we then moved onto work on their end of year accounts and associated compliance work. As a result of the sale that had taken place during the year; the end of year accounts work involved some complex accounting issues. By working closely with the company, together, we were able to resolve the issues and prepare the accounts for presentation and approval by the board.
We are now finalising their research and development claim as part of our corporation tax work and advice.
The company has also needed support from other areas of our business. There was in particular, some intricate company secretarial work to do and tax advice on a range of issues encompassing EIS compatibility and group structure.
The company has now built up a good relationship with many members of the Roffe Swayne team and we are in frequent contact with them to provide advice as needed.
Testimonial from Mark Beilby, Chairman of Auga
“Thanks again for your joint work on the Accounts; our last meeting was I think the most enjoyable I have ever had with a corporate accountant; and I have had very many of them, as you would imagine.”
