Corporate Finance and Audit
Sharon Ward started her career at KPMG, working in Surrey, London and the South East region before joining Roffe Swayne in 1997, acting as Managing Partner from 2007 until 2016. Sharon’s focus is on ensuring that all Roffe Swayne’s clients consistently receive strategic business advice combined with service and relationship excellence.
Her client portfolio includes businesses from a wide range of sectors including: manufacturing; recruitment; charities; software and technology sectors. All of who recognise Sharon’s experience and commitment to their success.
As a corporate partner, Sharon leads on Corporate Finance transactions and Business Advisory services. The Corporate Finanace role includes advising on acquisitions, disposals and fund raising. She also ensures that clients structure their transactions in a tax effective way to maximise cash in hand and minimise the cost of the transaction. Business Advisory services includes acting as an outsourced Financial Director; strategic reviews; forecasting and management of funding.
As an audit partner, Sharon works with businesses of all sizes throughout Surrey and the South East. Ensuring that their annual accounts and audits are completed efficiently whilst identifying opportunities to improve internal controls and effectiveness of the finance teams.
When not working Sharon enjoys time with her family travelling, walking and both playing and watching sport and is a Trustee for a number of local charities working to improve the education and opportunities for young people.
- Improving an HR consultancy’s internal reporting so that they could understand the profitability of different parts of their business and then agree an action plan to improve profitability.
- Providing strategic advice to a client to prepare their business for sale over a period of time and then structuring a management buy-out to achieve their exit from the business.
- Advising a growing insurance broker on acquisitions including fund raising and structuring of the deals.
- Acting as Finance Director for a manufacturing business helping them to improve the quality of their forecasting and retructure their business given significant.
